1. PURPOSE.

To ensure that all members of the community are served equally and have an opportunity to serve the fire department and the community.

2. SCOPE.

This policy shall apply to all firefighters.

3. POLICY

The Central Oktibbeha Fire Department, Inc., does not discriminate -- either in hiring or service delivery -- on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status. However, firefighting, rescue and other normal activities of a firefighter are physical and strenuous; therefor, persons with disabilities or who otherwise have trouble performing strenuous activities may be offered alternative duties.
