1. PURPOSE.

To provide opportunities for service to the fire department and community for those who do not wish to or are unable to participate as active firefighters.

2. SCOPE.

This policy shall apply to all interested persons living or working in the primary response area of the fire department.

3. POLICY

Persons who wish to be members of the fire department but who do not wish to be emergency responders may be auxiliary members. Auxiliary members will not normally respond to routine emergencies, but may be called upon in time of disaster. Auxiliary members will include board directors who are not emergency responders, and may include retired emergency responders, underage pre-recruits at least 16 years old, and others who wish to assist the department.
